Who benefits from the Collin Classic?

The Community

Inactivity is killing us. Americans are gaining weight at an alarming weight. Our children are becoming obese before they reach 10 years of age, Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes is being seen more and more in young children. Now, more than ever, we need to encourage our children, and each other, to be active. The Collin Classic is designed to give people of all ages a good reason to get out in the country for a nice bike ride. You can find a route to fit every fitness level. So come on out and ride for victory!

Local Organizations

City House provides emergency shelter and transitional services to children and young adults who are need due to abuse, neglect, or homelessness. Our vision for success is that every child and young adult we serve develops the skills and confidence necessary to succeed in life, especially while coping with difficult relationships and circumstances.  City House operates a youth shelter, My Friend's House, for newborns to age 17 who have been removed from their home by Child Protective Services, have run away from home, or are experiencing homelessness. Our young adult program, TRIPS (Transitional Resources in Preparation for Success), provides both residential and nonresidential services for young adults 18-21 to help them obtain the skills, education and life experience they need to break the cycles of their past, live independently, and succeed as vital, contributing members of their community. We cannot provide these services without the generous support of our community. Please join us in transforming lives and building futures for the young lives we serve.  Donate now.

International Organizations

World Hope International does some amazing work all over the world. A portion of the proceeds from the Collin Classic will be used to support their Rural Development Fund for building clean water wells. Since we started contributing to this effort, we have funded the drilling of 2 wells. To learn more about World Hope International click here.

The balance of the proceeds will be used to support bicycle education programs in the North Texas Region.
